PROJECT MEMBERSHIP
Terms of participation and project rules
The binding basis for admission, annual contributions, reporting duties, project access and the responsible handling of project data.
1. Nature of the project community and scope
The European Fruit Dove Project is not entered in the German register of associations and organises its cooperation as a professional project community. These terms apply to all persons and institutions requesting access or approved as project members.
Submitting an application does not itself create membership. The project management decides on admission after reviewing the information and the professional connection to the project.
2. Start and duration of membership
Membership starts with explicit approval by the project management and continues indefinitely until it is ended by the member or the project management.
A member may leave at any time by an informal email. The project management may block access or end membership after review if payments remain outstanding or project rules are seriously or repeatedly breached.
3. Project contribution and payment deadlines
For every calendar year, the annual project contribution maintained in the Project Centre is EUR 15.00. This central value is used by the form, these terms, emails and the contribution administration.
The first contribution is payable within the deadline stated in the approval email. Regular contributions are currently due by April 1, 2026.
The full annual contribution is payable regardless of the admission date. There is no pro-rata reduction, even when admission takes place at the end of the calendar year. Contributions already paid are not refunded pro rata when membership ends.
4. Duties of project members
- report the current fruit-dove population completely and accurately at the beginning of each year,
- report the offspring of the previous calendar year at the beginning of each year,
- offer fruit doves to be transferred within the project before placing them externally,
- keep contact, population and origin information up to date and respect the rights of other members and authors.
5. User account, access and cooperation
Personal access credentials must not be shared. Internal information, messages and personal contact details may only be used for the agreed project purposes. Access may be temporarily blocked in the event of security risks, payment arrears or rule violations.
6. Population, offspring and origin records after membership ends
After membership ends, the user account and personal contact data are deleted when they are no longer required and no legal retention duties or legitimate documentation interests prevent deletion.
Population, offspring and origin records may continue to be held in pseudonymised form where this is necessary for certificates of origin, breeding planning, population continuity or documented professional enquiries. The protected link to the former person is accessible only to a narrowly limited group of authorised project officers. Details are provided in the privacy policy.
7. Changes and evidence of acceptance
Version 1.0 dated July 5, 2026 applies. Material changes to the contribution, reporting duties, deadlines, blocking rules or data use may require renewed acceptance.
The application stores the version, date, language, acceptance time, contribution value and a technical content hash so that the accepted version can be demonstrated later.
8. Contact
Questions about these terms or project membership can be sent to the project management via the European Fruit Dove Project contact page.
